Bart A noisy roar of an album, that occasionally shifts into d-beat death metal. It breaks up the mood and almost lets you catch your breath. Almost. Favorite track: The Blood Of Mars.

Odiumediae My latest obsession. Relentless pounding drums, thick, fuzzy riffs – massive soundwalls – elevated by the amazing mix by Arthur Rizk and Dan Lowndes' mastering. It's like very good War Metal (Profane Order, anybody?) crossed with deep, "bassy" dirty Death Metal, such as good ol' Bolt Thrower or Chris Tucker era Morbid Angel, with a little Deathgrind like Caustic Wound strewn in and pretty much running on repeat since I gave it my first listen. I suspect that's what it's going to be for a while.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
